Lee explained the green economy as "food, energy, transportation, water, waste" and how Blue.Green.Fusion presented those topics. Possibilities to follow progress on each topic exist with the Evelyn K Davis Center, Iowa Farmer's Market Association, Environmental Law Policy Center, Iowa Renewable Fuels Summit, Des Moines City Council, Des Moines Public Works, Center on Sustainable Communities, Metro Waste Authority, and Capital Crossroads, and Des Moines Public Library.
Lee described her visit to the City Council and its consideration of the conveyance of city-owned properties to State Senator Jack Hatch plus public commentary on the creation of the Des Moines Airport Authority.
She also summarized the inauguration of Governor Terry Branstad and the possibilities of female leadership in statewide offices. Headlines came from the Des Moines Register and the Des Moines Public Library.
Lee finished with an acknowledgement of the forthcoming Martin Luther King Jr Holiday, his support of striking sanitation workers, and the relevance to current leadership in the green economy today.
